Mushrooms and cheese toastie

All ingredients
  •  1 baguette
  •  500 g mushrooms
  •  2 onions
  •  1 tbsp clarified butter
  •  250 g Hochland Cagliata
  •  salt and pepper to taste
  •  ketchup and mustard
  •  chives or fresh oregano leaves

Recipe step by step

  • 1. first cut the baguette crosswise and then lengthwise in half
  • 2. peel onions and finely chop thempeel the onions and chop them finely
  • 3. clean the mushrooms and slice them
  • 4. melt the butter in a frying pan, put the onions and fry them until glazed
  • 5. add the mushrooms and fry for about 10 minutes until the water evaporates
  • 6. remove the mushrooms from the fire when they are golden brown; season with salt and pepper
  • 7. chop the chives
  • 8. put a layer of fried mushrooms with onion on the baguettes, then sprinkle with the Cagliata cheese
  • 9. put the toasties in the oven for 8-10 minutes and bake at 200 °C until the bun becomes crispy and the cheese melts
  • 10. before serving, sprinkle with chives or oregano
  • 11. serve with ketchup and mustard
