Double beef burger in homemade bun with cheddar, bacon, onion rings and bbq sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 bun
- 2 beef burgers (180-200 g)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Hochland Cheddar cheese sauce
- 2 tbsp barbecue sauce
- 2 slices of Hochland Cheddar white
- 3 slices of bacon
- 3 white onion rings 1 cm diameter
- Onion rings coating
- 1 lettuce leaf
- 1 tomato slice
BUN (recipe for 7 pcs)
- 499 g bread flour
- 230 ml water
- 51 g egg
- 40 g soft butter
- 31 g sugar
- 26 g milk powder
- 11 g salt
- 8 g instant yeast
- 1 egg yolk for brushing
- A pinch of sesame seeds for sprinkling
CHEESE SAUCE
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 150 ml milk
- 200 g Hochland Cheddar cheese
ONION RINGS COATING
- 110 g wheat flour
- 110 g ice water
- 1 egg
- A handful of flour for dusting
Recipe step by step
- 1. Put all the ingredients for the buns in a food processor.
- 2. Knead the mass on the first speed until everything is combined, then turn on the second speed and mix for another 5 minutes.
- 3. Cover the kneaded dough with a cloth and set aside for 1 hour.
- 4. After this time, take the dough out of the bowl onto the pastry board and form mini buns (120 g each), put them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and brush the top with yolk, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- 5. Bake in an oven preheated to 205°C for 20 minutes.
- 6. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add a tablespoon of flour and when combined, pour in the milk.
- 7. Remove from the cooker and add the shredded Hochland Cheddar cheese and stir vigorously until smooth.
- 8. Make a dough of flour, ice-cold water and egg, coat the onion rings lightly in flour and then in the dough, deep fry until golden.
- 9. Cook the burger on a preheated grill (any degree of browning, provided that the meat was ground from high-quality beef), put grilled bacon slices and slices of Hochland Cheddar on top of the hot burgers.
- 10. Brush the halves of the bun with barbecue sauce, place lettuce on the bottom, top with a hot bacon and burger, Hochland Cheddar white slice and onion rings.
- 11. Then the second burger, another slice of Cheddar white, pour over the hot cheese sauce, place a slice of tomato on top.
- 12. Cover with the top half of the bun.
